Domaine Mongeard Mugneret Chardonnay 2021
Chardonnay from Burgundy, France
Winemaker Notes
The Mongeard family has a longstanding connection to Burgundy, settling in Vosne-Romanée in the 18th century, with historical records of family members contributing to Domaine de la Romanée-Conti dating as far back as 1786. Inspired by guidance from Henri Gouges, the Mongeards started independently bottling wines in the mid-1900s. The grapes for their Bourgogne Blanc are sourced from 25-year-old vineyards, and the wine is entirely vinified in oak barrels to preserve vibrant, fruit-driven flavors. It exhibits a supple and rich character, balanced by pronounced acidity.
Food Pairing
Pairs well with light and delicate food such as raw and lightly cooked shellfish like crab and prawns and steamed or grilled fish.
