Daniel Bouland Cote de Brouilly Cuvee Melanie 2021
Gamay from Beaujolais, Burgundy, France
Winemaker Notes
Named after Daniel’s daughter, this wine comes from 70-year-old vines in a schist and granite derived soil with blue diorite on the southern slope of Mont Brouilly. Aged in old oak foudres, with a fine plum color, it has rich spicy fruit with a marked stony flavor on the finish.
Wine Advocate – 92 Points
Opening in the glass with aromas of raspberries, plums, spices and smoke, the 2021 Côte de Brouilly Cuvée Melanie is medium to full-bodied, fleshy and succulent, with a sweet core of fruit, tangy acids, powdery tannins and penetrating finish.
Food Pairing
Pairs well with chicken with apple salsa, Pasta with sausage, Omelets, and Camembert cheese.
