Winemaker Notes

Deep ruby color with velvety aspects, expressive nose of small red fruits with notes of pepper and clove. The palate is ample with a silky texture, and a long and fresh finish. The wine is supple, deep, and fruity with dominating red fruit aromas.

Layered and enveloping, the 2019 Mercurey 1er Cru Clos du Roi is a medium to full-bodied, velvety and vibrant wine evocative of sweet berry fruit, plums, orange rind and dried flowers. This is an especially charming Clos du Roi that will offer a broad drinking window.
