Cesari Il Bosco Amarone della Valpolicella Classico 2016
Red Blends from Valpolicella, Veneto, Italy
Winemaker Notes
Deep red color with purple tones. A typical aroma of cherry, spices, cacao and bitter almonds. Full-bodied, velvety, warm, it is a wine which is complex and at the same time delicate and elegant.
James Suckling – 92 Points
Some dark dates, blackberries and chocolate follow through to a medium-to full-bodied palate. Pretty elegant and poised for Amarone with a bright berry feel before the bittersweet twist in the end. Chalky tannins to close. Drink now.
Bordeaux Bard – 89 Points
With its deep red and purple hues, this wine presents inviting aromas of dried cherries, plums, and fig newtons. It’s bold yet retains a sense of elegance and lightness. The finish is velvety, accented by subtle hints of toasted walnuts. The tannins are already well-integrated, making it ready to enjoy now. I don’t anticipate much further improvement with age. Food Pairing
Pairs well with beef, lamb, and blue cheese.
