Bava Pianoalto Nizza Barbera 2016
Barbera from Barolo, Piedmont, Italy
Winemaker Notes
Pianoalto is a harmonic and soft wine; the wooden ageing provides a balance. Fleshy with alluring aromas that are intense and complex, ripe currant and spicy notes similar to pepper and tobacco.
Decanter – 90 Points
Sour cherry, damson, and earthy, forest floor characters. An elegant wine with notes of evolution; meaty, blood, tomato leaf, saltiness.
Food Pairing
Pairs well with traditional tajarin pasta with rich mountain butter, fonduta of strong cheeses, even fried egg with a runny yolk.
