“Ripe, with vivid blueberry and boysenberry fruit, harnessed on the back end by a bold graphite edge. Anise and violet notes add range. Drink now through 2019.”
It’s unusual to see 100% Syrah coming out of the southern Rhone but this has become one of the signature wines of prestigious Gigondas producer Chateau de Saint Cosme. The fruit comes from the Vinsobres appellation in the northern part of the southern Rhone and the terraces of the Villefranchian subregion on the Gard side of the Rhone River. Imbued with the full flavor and richness that Syrah provides and from this exceptional 2015 vintage, you can’t go wrong with this pleasing and intense French red.
