Farm Chardonnay 2015
FARM by John Anthony is reminiscent of some of the old-style Chardonnays in that it is explosively rich, with plenty of tropical fruit, peach marmalade and honeysuckle, but to its credit, there is little oak to be found. This is just beautifully pure fruit and one could call it (and I mean this in a positive sense) a Chardonnay fruit bomb. This is a beauty to drink over the next 2-3 years, as it is pure hedonism at its best.
R-OH* Montsant 2015
A blend of Carignan and Granache, this is one of our favorite Spanish wines!
. This fresh blend, is intense, meaty, spicy and vigorous with red fruit and dark spice aromas. It is made from small parcels of vineyards, less than an acre, that are planted on steep hills. The soil is red clay covered with ancient river stones and slate.
This old vine Spanish red is rich, deep and powerful, both on the nose and on the palate. We found black fruits, pomegranate, licorice, spices, minerals and purple flowers in this round, ripe, rich red that also manages to be fresh and balanced at the same time. A versatile wine that can be drunk by itself or had with short ribs!
